Have you ever wondered which factors determine your life satisfaction? Or whether women really earn less than men?
This year, 30 ambitious high school students were granted the unique opportunity to shed light on these (and other) topics during CERGE-EI’s selective pre-college program “Projects in Applied Economics for Talented Students”.
On Monday, 20 November, 2017 Prof. Christopher Sims of Princeton University, Nobel Laureate, and member of CERGE-EI’s Executive and Supervisory Committee (ESC), was awarded an honorary doctorate by Charles University.
This summer, Vladimír Novák, our PhD student, attended the 6th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, where 350 young international economists from 66 countries met with 17 Nobel Laureates. The meeting lasted for 5 days and was packed with lectures, panel discussions (all of them now available online), special breakfasts or dinners, but also with coffee breaks and other informal gatherings where participants could have fruitful discussion on whatever topic they liked.

In celebration of this day, CERGE-EI welcomed faculty, students, and staff to this event taking place in the historical halls of Schebek Palace.
