The #AlumniLive seminar held in May featured Zuzana Fung\u00e1\u010dov\u00e1<\/strong>, a CERGE-EI PhD alumna and senior adviser at the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) in Helsinki<\/strong>. The event was organized as part of the CERGE-EI #AlumniLive series, which aims to create networking opportunities for CERGE-EI students and alumni while providing insights into successful career paths.<\/em><\/p>\n

Zuzana shared her career journey, which has focused on banking, emerging markets, and the political economy of banking, and discussed the research and projects she is currently involved in at BOFIT.<\/p>\n

Zuzana first provided information about BOFIT and recalled her first encounter with the institute in 2006, when she participated in the visiting researcher program during her PhD studies. She emphasized how useful this experience was for her dissertation and for establishing valuable contacts within the field. It proved immensely beneficial for her academic and professional development.<\/p>\n

As a senior adviser, Zuzana is responsible for coordinating research activities at BOFIT and overseeing the BOFIT Discussion Paper Series, as well as conducting her own research. Although the institute primarily focuses on projects related to emerging markets, BOFIT has recently expanded its focus to include research on global monetary trends, geopolitical issues, and more.<\/p>\n

In the second part of the seminar, Zuzana described her previous and more recent research projects. She detailed the methodologies, findings, and implications of her research, offering the audience a deeper understanding of her contributions to the field of economics.<\/p>\n

The seminar provided an excellent opportunity for CERGE-EI students to learn from Zuzana’s experiences and to network with an accomplished alumna.<\/p>\n
